Science Museum London | We Tried Everything So You Don’t Have To

We live in an age of modern lifestyles where science and technology are everywhere. However, the start of this modern period was not easy. Numerous scientists developed scientific theories and technologies that changed our lifestyles and made our lives easier. If you are a science enthusiast and want to learn more about science, then the Science Museum London is the perfect place for you. In the museum, you can find old technologies like early mobile phones, vintage cars, and many more historic items. You can also learn about scientists and their contributions to modern technology.

What Can I Explore in the Science Museum London?

There are many galleries in the Science Museum London to explore. Some of the highlights include Medicine: The Wellcome Galleries, which is the world’s largest medical gallery. You can see real rockets in Exploring Space, the Mathematics: The Winton Gallery for math lovers, or discover some of the most iconic items that have shaped our society in Making the Modern World, from the Apollo 10 capsule module to Crick and Watson’s DNA model.

Budding scientists can be amazed by live science shows and enjoy demonstrations led by a talented team of Explainers in Wonderlab, while teenagers can discover an interactive world of STEM careers in Technicians: The David Sainsbury Gallery.

In Power Up, you can experience realistic gaming, and at the IMAX: The Ronson Theatre, you can watch a 3D documentary and many more attractions.

Where is the Science Museum?

The Science Museum London is located on Exhibition Road in South Kensington, London, near the Natural History Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum. Both are a four-minute walk from the Science Museum.

How to Get There?

You can take a train, bus, cab, or car to get to the museum. In my opinion, the most convenient way is the tube. From South Kensington Station, it takes only 7 minutes to walk to the museum. The District Line, Circle Line, and Piccadilly Line all operate at South Kensington Station, so you can take any of these lines to get to the museum.

The South Kensington Underground Station serves bus routes 14, 49, 70, 74, 345, 360, 414, 430, and C1, which are all close to the Science Museum. Bus routes 9, 10, 52, 452, and 70 stop outside the Royal Albert Hall on Kensington Gore.

The Big Question: Is the Museum Free?

Yes, the Science Museum London is completely free.

However, charges apply for Wonderlab, IMAX shows, Power Up, and some other exhibitions. Family discounts and concessions are also available.
